NASA's Ingenuity helicopter successfully took off and reached a height of 40 feet above the Martian surface. The experimental craft, equipped with four-feet-long rotors, flew over a hill just past the rim of Belva crater and captured a breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape. The image released by NASA shows a rocky desert in the foreground, with windswept hills stretching towards the horizon under a bright sky. Interestingly, some signs of human exploration can also be seen in the image.

The #MarsHelicopter and I have been closer together lately, allowing us to snap pics of each other for the first time in a while. Can you find me in one of these images, and Ingenuity in the other? 🔍 pic.twitter.com/WDlGyA9TIH
