Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, has announced that the social media platform is planning to offer media publishers an alternative option to earn from their content. Instead of the usual recurring subscription model, publishers will be able to charge users for access to individual articles that they have posted on Twitter. Although the price per article will be higher than the cost of a full subscription, it is ideal for users who only want to read stories from a specific outlet occasionally. Musk has stated that the cost of each article will likely be lower than a monthly subscription. This new feature is expected to be rolled out as early as next month.

Currently, there are not many specifics available regarding the upcoming feature. Musk only mentioned that it will be launched in the month of may, without providing information about which types of accounts and media outlets will be able to utilize per-article charging. Additionally, Twitter's owner did not specify how much commission the website will be taking. Following the replacement of Super Follows with Subscriptions, Musk stated that the company will not be charging creators for the next 12 months. After this period, Twitter will be taking a 10 percent cut on subscriptions.

The company, under Musk's leadership, is looking to increase its revenue through paid features. One such feature is the verification badge which is now available only with the Blue subscription costing $8 per month. Additionally, Twitter has replaced its free API with a new paid one. Enterprise customers will have to pay almost $50,000 monthly to access the new API.
